In Mexico City there is street where everything from washing machines and refrigerators to kitchen blenders and TV remote controls can be repaired or a part may be found for. There, it makes sense to repair so many of the things that in the US we find easier and cheaper discard and replace with new versions. It is a cycle that feeds our consumer economy at the price of tremendous waste.
